when of if I started shipping it: technically the books buuut the pilot in season 1 when damon is talking to stefan about elena >]
my thoughts: they were awesome, they got fucked up in so many ways i can’t count anymore, and are now one of the most unhealthy horrible ships on the show.
What makes me happy about them: how they slowly warmed up to each other in s1 without sacrificing their personalities
What makes me sad about them: like fucking everything after 2x01. the midseason finale really depressed me because that scene between them couldve meant so much and been so beautiful if the past season and half hadn’t been utter shit
things done in fanfic that annoys me: from tumblr experience, ridiculous smut. i still don’t think people realize elena is a human who has likely only ever been with two guys in her life, and it’s not some insane vamp sex. people try to make them d/k and it doesn’t work
things I look for in fanfic: welllll i only read book fanfic BUT i love anything that will amp up the sexual tension with them
